Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Lampstead Prayer (the "app"), published by Montgomery Appworks LLC ("we"). By using the app, you agree to them.
Using the app
The app is a personal tool for prayer, journaling and reminders. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don't misuse it, interfere with it, or try to reverse-engineer it for harmful purposes.
Your content
What you write belongs to you. It is stored on your device and, only if you turn on sync, in encrypted form on our sync server (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for keeping a backup; we cannot restore data that is deleted or lost from your device.
Accounts and encrypted sync
Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and only used for sync. Synced content is end-to-end encrypted with a passphrase and recovery code that only you have. We cannot reset your passphrase or decrypt your data. If you lose both your sync passphrase and your recovery code, your synced data cannot be recovered, although data still on your devices is unaffected. Keep your recovery code private and safe. Sync is provided as-is and may be changed, paused or discontinued; we'll give reasonable notice in the app before discontinuing it so you can export your data. You can delete your account at any time in the app (More → Sign in & sync → Delete account), which permanently removes your synced data from our server.
Scripture and content
Scripture quotations are from the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. Prompts and guides are offered for devotional use and are not professional, medical, legal or counseling advice.
Reminders
Reminders depend on your device, browser and settings, and may not always be delivered. Don't rely on the app for time-critical needs.
Premium subscriptions
The core app is free. In the iPhone app you can subscribe to Premium, an optional auto-renewing subscription available monthly or yearly. Premium currently adds extra guided prayers, prayer insights, audio narration, and additional accent colors. Journaling, streaks and reminders stay free. Features may change over time; if a change materially reduces what Premium includes, we will tell you in the app.
- Free trial. New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged the price shown at sign-up. One free trial per Apple Account per subscription group.
- Billing and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for the same period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings, or from Premium → Manage subscription in the app. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for (or the end of the trial).
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are subject to Apple's policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Restoring. Use Premium → Restore purchases to restore an active subscription on a new or reinstalled device signed in to the same Apple Account.
Google Play. If and when an Android version of the app is offered, purchases in that version are made through Google Play and handled by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service and its refund policies. You can manage or cancel those subscriptions in the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions; uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
Your use of the App Store and purchases is also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. For the iPhone app, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data stored on your device.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above, and continued use means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, except where your local law gives you rights that can't be waived.
